While some women experience severe menopausal symptoms, there are women who go through menopause without any problems or symptoms. Being in, or approaching the menopause, can manifest itself in a number of ways. Symptoms such as cold sweats, low body temperature and feeling cold, bad breath or odour and numbness can be signs of menopause.

What problems can you experience during the menopause?

Menopausal symptoms and side effects can be really annoying. For example, you may accumulate more fluid in your body and feel swollen, have nasal congestion and nosebleeds, have increased sugar cravings, feel constantly hungry, feel shaky, have numbness, hot flushes and may even feel like you have PMS. There are many more symptoms of the menopause, so menopausal symptoms can vary greatly.

What can I do if I experience menopausal symptoms?

There is a lot you can do yourself to relieve menopausal symptoms, such as relaxation exercises, heart rate increasing exercise and strength training. Not washing your genitals with soap, and possibly using a lubricant, for dry mucous membranes can help. Avoiding coffee, tea, alcohol and smoking can also help with menopausal symptoms.
